at last some new sounds have arrived. routine release number 4 is this EP from italian duo 2GI, who have elected this spot to release their newest works instead of either of their previous release venues for reasons of this music not "fitting their roster". apparently, these tracks were deemed "too normal" for acedia and inv3rno.
no, but in all honesty. what you will be exposed to upon downloading this release, is impossible to define with one word, or one sentence, or one paragraph. to save myself a lot of trouble, i could go with the first single word that comes to mind: chaos.
all four tracks are heavily electro-influenced and indeed quite chaotic. the first two are full of acid noise next to that, while the latter two are -surprisingly enough- full of guitar noise. providing anything more descriptive would be a waste of time and effort. i might add that this may remind you of jerzz' music, in being part music and part anti-music, and kicking all that is regular in the nuts. i might add a warning, stating that even though subco has something of an undergound legacy to honour, this is "seriously off-beat", to say the least. i might add that there is a decent chance you may not even enjoy this release, but that you'd have to hear it first in order to find out.
i am fairly confident that in putting forth these tracks, subco has once more managed to provide an interesting listen to all of you, whilst pushing the boundaries another notch further into uncharted sonic territories. i dare you to expose yourself to su càrmelo bene.

As an occasional listener of 'IDM' (may it be a wide and loose description), and enjoyer of musical oddities, after reading cadra's release description, I felt the urge to check this one out :) And here's some thoughts.
Càpricci
I must say I liked the sliced and diced experimental take on the beats at the start and the ending, but personally the melody wasn't quite my thing. However, nice effects and tricks saves a lot and left me with a positive vibe.
Don Giòvanni
Nice acid techno sound, where the song is built around a short synth riff. Again with a good number of tricks and glitches.
Salòme
Moving to a whole different type in comparison to the two above, this one adds nice variety for the EP. Entertainingly groovy stuff with guitar riffs.
Un Àmleto In Meno
Deep pads, guitars and broken beats flavoured with all kinds of small blips and tricks. I like the beat slicing with sharp cuts there.
Overall, these tracks must be one of the strangest ones on SubCo. And by strange I don't mean it in any negative sense. It's a diverse EP with clear variety between tracks. So, if you are after experimental, IDM kind of sound, you probably should give this one a try.
First two traxx are definately classified as `jerzzno` by me. I love the retro/acid sounds ya used, strange effects and crazy edits.
The last two tracks are different but that`s cool. You don`t stick to one specifik genre.
With this release Subco (Cadra) shows he is not afraid to push non commercial music. Thank you for the music!!!
Jerzy
I guess you can consider me commercial then. I almost got a heart attack after listening the first 3 songs. I left at number 4. It got me completely stressed out.
Nice effects though, but just not my style.
