various artists - transfer one

tn_xfr001.jpg

to kick the transfer label into being, here is a release consisting of 4 tracks by various artists, varying from merely trance-influenced sounds to deep down psy madness.

for starters, vibenation brings us "the fall of arabia". in fact it's hardly trance, maybe not trance at all, but it bears influences from progressive and the harder stuff vibe has been doing in the past. also features nice arabic vocals. in all, a gentle opener to this release.
second, we have the more to-the-point beating "mirror image" by our old friend deFusion, known from the plantbane releases which he made together with saiko. it's a bit of a trance/house crossover, similar to the style of matthijs b.
then, the b-side of this release is the psy-side, starting with a co-operative track by cadra and saiko. to the experienced (or otherwise well-informed) listener, both artists' influences are audible in it: you could almost pick out which parts are made by whom. now, it must be said that for psy this track is almost cheesy, so luckily, it's not the last and there is one more to compensate.
gated reality are the guys responsible for the final track, and they do what they do best. what exactly that is, is as hard to define as ever, but at any rate... it's weird. "phunk'd" rolls molested organs, distorted incomprehensible voices and melodies that could be considered "plain wrong" into over 6 minutes of sonic insanity, and supports it with a tough beat, an equally tough bassline and the necessary drums.

cheers!

p.s. a big and loud "thank you" to jani (outgate) for his cover artwork.
