electronic music has always meant, as he explains, “a huge freakin’ lot" to this guy. arjan started making music with good old fasttracker at the tender age of 15. some time after that, the (obvious to some) switch to impulse tracker was made. in this period he met subatomic (then known as slidingtrancer) at school, who was doing very similar things. The two supported one other and did some co-ops. sub’ is also largely responsible for bringing psync into contact with the genre of psytrance, which he immediately got hooked up on. after secondary school, he moved to breda, but in spite of distance, remained friends with subatomic.

then, there was reason. with this whole new world of software, psync really got to grips with making music on a more professional level; as did sub, with whom he kept cooperating. his general interests in making music shifted from trance and (happy) hardcore to psytrance and breakbeats. even though education in took its time, arjan spent hours & hours behind his pc, building tracks and improving his producing skills. he also made himself heard of at school, by dj-ing at parties, producing some rap-beats and making jingles. sub told him about subco and under their join moniker gated reality they did a co-op –black snow - which got released here.

finally, psync discovered that the direction of his education in breda wasn’t what he wanted to be the path of his life. at the end of 2004, he quit school, bought two synths and a mixer, and dove into reason and cubase. he hasn’t surfaced since, only some music comes out occasionally. in the meantime, he’s looking for a job or education that has anything to do with studios or producing electronic music. who could blame him?
